Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatments

Platelets are rich in growth factors which stimulate wound healing and tissue regrowth. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments involve having blood drawn from a peripheral vein and spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the red blood cells. The PRP can then be injected into the scalp for hair restoration, where the injections stimulate dermal papillae cells, which play a critical role in hair regrowth. PRP can also be used in skin treatments, such as undereye treatments where the thin, delicate skin shows dark musculature underneath. Here, PRP injections can stimulate skin cell growth and regeneration and the result is thicker, healthier skin that reflects light and lessens the appearance of dark circles.
